Cause: Excel 2011 does not include the Analysis ToolPak. Solution: Download StatPlus:mac LE for free from AnalystSoft, and then use StatPlus:mac LE with Excel 2011. That last link used to include loads of comments from disgruntled Office for Mac users, but Microsoft seems to have removed comment functionality from that help center article.

The Analysis ToolPak is an Excel 2007 add-in program that adds extra financial, statistical, and engineering functions to Excel’s pool of built-in functions. The tools included in the Analysis ToolPak enable you to analyze worksheet data by using such things as ANOVA, F-Test, rank and percentile, t-Test, and Fourier analysis.
Although the Analysis ToolPak comes with EXcel 2007, it doesn’t come pre-installed. Before you can use the statistical functions added by the Analysis ToolPak, you must install and load it as follows:
1Click the Office button and then click the Excel Options button.
The Excel Options dialog box opens.
2Click the Add-Ins tab in the left pane.

Hello, I am copying charts to display the same information for different regions. When I work on the copied region, I find it a cumbersome task to go through each charts source data and change the cell references to the different region. Essentially I am doing a trending analysis for each region, with a region having its own sheet with 5 charts per sheet. What I have done is copy the original sheet and am updating the sheet for another regions source data by going to the source data. The source data is all in the same row/column format, but each regions source data has its own sheet. Is there a more automatic way to do this? Perhaps a way to update all 5 charts references at the same time.

I have a co-worker's file that he is having trouble with. He is using Excel 2000 SP3. When copying a cell with a formula in it of '=D6+C6' and pasting it into the next cell down, it will display the same value in the cell as the calculated value from above, but has the correct formula displayed in the formula bar of '=D7+C7'. Example: A1: 50 A2: 10 B1: 60 B2: 20 A3: Formula: =A1+A2 Displays: 60 Right click A3, Copy, right click B3, paste A3 displays 60 When I click save, it will change the display value to 80. I am trying this on his workstation and mine. Mine has Office 2010, so I think there might be an issue with the file itself. Also, not just copy and paste. I can also just click the top cell after filling in the formula and then drag the bottom right of the cell downward and it will do the same of filling in the correct formula, but have the incorrect value. I know that I could get him to just click save each time before really looking at the results, but that is just a band aid to the problem. Any ideas how to fix this? I've lost my menu bar in Excel. I tried to enable Worksheet Menu bar, but that is not even listed in my toolbar section in the Customize box. Any other ideas?
I would like to know how to make excel calculate which inventory is left in the FIFO method, quantities that are bought first are the first to be sold. Basically where the quantity and price is derived from. For example: APPLE bought 100 on FEB 1 @$1 bought 500 on FEB 1 @$1 bought 1000 on FEB 10 @$1 sold 300 on FEB 12 @$1.5 bought 100 on FEB 13 @$1.1 sold 100 on FEB 13 @$1.2 bought 1000 on FEB 14 @$1 bought 400 on FEB 15 @$1 sold 2000 on FEB 19 @$1.5 For this, the formula/function would know that: =>for the 300 sold on FEB 12, 100 bought on FEB 1 is depleted and 200 of the 500 bought on FEB 1 is depleted. =>for the 100 sold on FEB 13, the 100 bought on FEB 13 is depleted =>for the 2000 sold on FEB 19, it knows that: >the 100 bought on FEB 1, the 200 of the 500 bought on FEB 1, and the 100 bought on FEB 13 is depleted so it can't consider those quantities >it would consider the remaining 300 of the 500 bought on FEB 1, 1000 bought on FEB 10, and 700 of the 1000 bought on FEB 14 The remaining quantities that are left would be the remaining 300 of the 1000 bought on Feb 14 and the 400 bought on FEB 15. Is there a trick to copy-paste a group of cells into Outlook? I don't want to paste as a picture (shows up as an attachment and is lost when someone else Replies), but formatting is skewed when pasted as an Excel object. Right now I'm recreating the table in Word, then pasting, which doesn't loose formatting. A specific problem is cells which don't have borders show up with very light grey borders in Outlook. For example my numbers are formatted like this: 1234 and I would like to add zeros to the end so it looks like this: 123400 (no decimal). i've been trying to figure this out on my own but seem to be hitting road blocks. i have a column of numbers that we extracted from a database as whole numbers. for instance, 30 should be .30 and 100 should be 1.00. when i try to increase or decrease the decimal point it doesn't allow me to convert it to those positions. would any one have a tip of how i can easily convert this? there are over 2000 entries in my excel spreadsheet so to do it manually would take a lot of time/effort. thank you!
Hi all, I've been getting this error on occasion recently. - It's a shared document - There is usually 10-12 people using the file at the same time I've read on the Microsoft Help site that the issue is that somebody is accessing the file while another is trying to open it. Is there a way, perhaps through VBA, that I can not allow a user to save while somebody else is opening the document? Other suggestions on how to avoid this error? Thanks!
Hi I'm not sure how to do this, but I want the Total (column D) to be the sum of the Unit Price (column C) times the Quantity (column A). Is there a formula you can apply to a column or do I have to do it in individaul cells?

I know that you can do PASTE > VALUES in order to keep your conditional formatting on an existing sheet, but sadly the people in my office are prone to not understanding this ('It's a bit technical') and so they just pasting blocks of text from elsewhere and lose it all..... Does anyone have any suggestions about how to maintain the formatting when people just do a traditional C&P ? Works fine for all except if the person was hired in year 2000 then this formula shows 110 y. I recently moved into a new office and I am using a brand new computer on our network. When trying to edit an existing file, I'm not able to select a single cell and type. After clicking on a cell, if I move the mouse at all (even without pressing the left button) it just continues highlighting cells no matter where I move the mouse. I am also not able to click on the tool bars at all. I have to actually Ctrl-Alt_del to get out of the program. I'm sure this is something simple, but I don't know that much about this program. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello , Here is my issue: I have a list of SKUs in Excel and I need to add one same word to 500 cells that have pre-existing text in the cells. See example below: 1) List of SKU's in cells: 34 35 39 55 2) text that needs to be added IN FRONT of every number: DF So the result would be: DF34 DF35 DF39 etc. How do I do that in a formula and not manually? I found another similar thread and I understand how to do it from the instructions there but the same text goes on the back and the result is: 34DF but I need it to be like: DF34. We have a number of Excel users in our office who cannot copy and paste between Excel workbooks. They can copy and paste between worksheets. When you highlight the section to copy and then go to the new workbook both the paste and paste special are 'grayed out'. This is true whether you right-click the mouse, go to the edit menu, or use control keys. This occurs with any data type and the most simple workbooks. I have seen some suggestions here but none have worked for this particular problem. I have reset the menus and renamed the .xlb files and neither helps. You can open the clipboard and the paste will work, but there is no paste special option. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
